Yoga for Teens

We all know that yoga has many benefits for those who practice it, both for the physical body and for the mind. Teenagers, who are going through physical and emotional changes and challenges are a population that can greatly benefit from the positive outcomes of practicing yoga.

At the studio we are offering a regular weekly yoga class for teens…

We are excited to offer a yoga class for teens (11 years old and older) at the studio. The class will be one hour and will focus on flexibility, concentration, relaxation and having fun while doing yoga! The pressures of going through adolescence are often overwhelming and yoga can be a great way to help ease the stress and anxiety that occurs during this time period. The class will be led by Andrea Limón, a former ISP teacher, who has over 10 years experience working with children and teenagers.

We will be offering Yoga for Teens classes at the studio on Wednesdays at 16:00. Classes begin on September 4th.

We will also host monthly themed yoga and reflection workshops for teen girls…

On a monthly basis we will be offering a “Breath & Blossom Break” for teen girls. This will be a chance for girls to be in a safe, intimate setting where they will learn strategies to deal with stress, gain self-esteem and increase their confidence.

Being a teenage girl is exciting, but it can also be overwhelming and scary. There is a lot of pressure on girls – at home, at school, in extra curricular activities, in social circles and in the world. And on top of that external pressure, their bodies and brains are changing and this can be confusing.

In a safe, calm space we will pause from the madness of the world, we will take a break. We will talk about stress and difficult emotions and learn techniques for how to deal with them. We will move gently and relax our body and mind. We will explore ways to boost self-esteem and self-confidence so that every girl can blossom and follow her dreams.

The workshops will be lead by Jana Kyriakou ( Jana has more than 20 years experience working with teenagers. Over the last 10 years she has been leading the dance program and yoga & mindfulness classes for students at the International School of Prague. She is a member of the Czech National Institute of Mental Health and works as part of an expert team on projects bringing social-emotional learning and mental health curriculum into Czech schools.

We will be offering “Breath & Blossom Breaks” at the studio on Fridays once a month at 16:00. The workshops will be 2 hours in length. The first monthly workshop will be on September 13th.

We look forward to supporting teenagers in our community and empowering them to be well, both physically and emotionally.
